Frequently asked questions about Anti-DDoS
What types of DDoS attacks do you mitigate?+
We mitigate volumetric attacks at layers 3 and 4 (UDP flood, SYN flood, ICMP flood, DNS/NTP amplification). Protection filters malicious traffic before it reaches your server.
Does Anti-DDoS protection cost extra?+
No. Anti-DDoS mitigation is included at no additional cost in all Baires Host Cloud VPS, Bare Metal, and Game Server plans.
Does it affect my server's latency?+
Not under normal conditions. Filtering is done inline at our nodes, without diverting traffic to remote cleaning centers. During an active attack, latency may increase minimally while malicious traffic is filtered.
Does it protect against layer 7 (application) attacks?+
The included protection covers layers 3 and 4. For layer 7 protection (HTTP floods, slowloris), we recommend complementing with a WAF or Cloudflare on your application.
What mitigation capacity do you have?+
Our infrastructure can absorb significant volumetric attacks. The exact capacity depends on the node and the nature of the attack. For enterprise needs, contact the sales team.
Do I need to configure anything to activate protection?+
No. Anti-DDoS protection is active by default on all servers. It requires no configuration or manual activation.
